It acts as a starter guide for foodies, travellers or anyone interested in food and culture. The map also helps visualise the similarities and differences in dishes based on region. The headers help emphasise the colour of the dish, accentuating the images of food. The text and images are both composited to radiate a nostalgic, homely feel. Its goal is to evoke a sense of belonging in the reader as the publication explores dishes that are often not heard or known about "South Indian food".
