This is my first time exploring type design in such detail. We had a timeframe of 2 weeks to design a typeface from scratch in devanagari script. The process began with lettering explorations (skeleton and flesh) for a chosen letter. The finalised design was then taken forward and 12 characters along with 4 matras were designed and digitised.

Process/
The process is shown below, ranging from lettering to the final digitisation phase. My goal while designing this typeface was to create a dynamic and bold design. In simple words, I have tried to use non-parallel trapeziums to make my typeface look parallel.
Skeleton Explorations/
These explorations were done over 3 rounds. Each round was 10 mins each. Post each round, the skeletons were placed and similar looking designs were grouped together. Everything was analysed to understand what styles have been tried, what hasn't and what can be done. This was done as part of a group so I had the opportunity to take a look at other designs for inspiration.
